John Bounds - Director
My career started as an apprentice cartographic draftsman over 30 years ago for a cartography service company. I learnt my skills the old way on a drawing board, using pen and ink and hand colouring maps. It is this background that taught me the need for accuracy and attention to detail - mistakes were difficult and time consuming to correct! After completing my apprenticeship I joined Premier Oil as a junior draftsman and stayed there for nine years, eventually becoming Chief draftsman. During my time at Premier cartography went digital and with just a few lessons we were left to teach ourselves the art of digital cartography and graphic design. I left Premier Oil after the drawing office was outsourced and following a redundancy in 2003 I set-up Blueasterisk Design.
